The great thing about this recipe is that it makes the perfect base. You can use so many fun add ins such as dried coconut flakes, chopped nuts or pretzels. The possibilities are endless. These are also great to make with whatever you have on hand whether that's peanut butter, or any other kinds of nut butters. However, the Truly Tart cherries are an absolute must for us in the Republic.

Truly Tart Energy Bites

These cherry energy bites are loaded with dried tart cherries, oats, and mini chocolate chips making them the perfect energy filled snack.

  • 1 1/4 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup nut butter (we used peanut butter)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup chopped Truly Tart Dried Cherries
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Stir well for a few minutes until all the ingredients are combined.

  2. Take 1 to 1.5 Tablespoons of the mixture and roll it between your hands to make a ball. Repeat with remaining mixture.

  3. Place the balls on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. Place the baking sheet in the fridge to chill for 1 hour.

  5. Enjoy, or store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
