The Joy of Giving

The holiday season is here, and at Cherry Republic we’ve had “joy” on our minds. The joy of living in Northern Michigan … the joy of two terrific cherry crops in a row … the joy of a successful summer and fall season (thanks to all of you). But perhaps most importantly, we are focused on the joy of giving. After all, nothing feels better than brightening someone’s world with a heartfelt gift of ruby red morsels of joy from the happy lands of Northern Michigan.  

And so, with joy in our hearts, we’ve put a plan together to make this a magical holiday for as many of our friends and neighbors as possible. Here are some highlights:

Operation Little Red Box

For each $100 our customers spend at Cherry Republic this holiday season, Cherry Republic will donate a cheery, cherry red Royal Sampler Gift Box to a child in need. We’ve selected organizations near each of our retail stores in Glen Arbor, Traverse City, Ann Arbor, Frankenmuth and Holland, and have committed to donating a total of 2,500 gifts.

Supporting Renewable Energy

I recently sent a letter to about 75 non-profit organizations that Cherry Republic has supported in the past, along with more than a dozen CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farms, and I asked them to consider joining us in our long-term plan to reduce our collective carbon footprint through the use of renewable energy. The response has been extraordinary, and I look forward to walking together on this journey to leave a small footprint and a large legacy when it comes to how we use this wonderful planet we all call home.

31 Days of Giving

We plan to make this our biggest 31 Days of Giving ever. When all’s said and done — and thanks to your patronage and support — Cherry Republic will donate over $200,000 this year to Michigan-based organizations working to protect our environment and quality of life. 

Each day throughout December we will choose a new organization and project that we believe makes the world a better place. Follow along here.
