From the looks of it, things have calmed down quite a bit around town after Labor Day. But as there once used to be a saying that you could shoot a gun down M22 and not hit a thing after the start of the month, that's not so true these days. Still, it's a gentle hum of busyness; no car horns, plenty of parking, and businesses open to those who are experiencing our little secret: September in Glen Arbor.

It was 23 years ago when I created this motto on a t-shirt. I needed those words in gold and black to sit below a drawing of a beautiful cherry tree and big red Cherry Republic text. In past weeks, I talked about Life and Liberty. This time, let’s talk about “Beaches.”
The Cheney Family were the high bidders in our most coveted Inaudible Auction to date: an instant transformation into Cherry Republic employees, and a morning of hard labor in Glen Arbor. We think they enjoyed their time with us despite all of the intense labor. Here's a peek at their day:
