Talking Small Town! Next Wednesday, I am speaking to the Small Town and Rural Development Conference put on by the State of Michigan. I am speaking on internet sales. Any advice? I think that I was a little over eager on my acceptance when asked. I have to speak for 40 minutes, I don't know a thing about building web sites, eCommerce, or generating hits... It sure would help if I invite Jon, the web/art director who puts this Orchard Report together to join me. "Jon, while you are editing this OR, can I ask you a question-- do you want to come and speak with me? I'll buy lunch." Edited to add: Sure Bob, I'd love for you to buy me lunch, but you'll have to do better than Chili Chocolate Covered Cherries.... -Jon |

Here's some news that's right off the press: My brother Mike is putting a very fun and lively putt putt golf course, called The River at Crystal Bend. More to come on that. Our mail order and winery manager Katy Wiesen and her husband Matt are opening a paint your own pottery business, Camp Fire Pottery. And finally, a new building. It will be the first new commercial construction in GA since the grandiose LeBear. Well, this is going to be LeBudget. It's right in the art district of GA, between the Glen Arbor Art Association building and Leelanau Coffee Roasters. Here is a peek----> |
