Boosting Valentine's Day to the same level of holiday fanfare as Christmas requires some collaboration. To assist with our pursuit, we brought a very special helper to the Cherry Republic. Watch the Movie here. Valentines aren't just for your sweetie anymore! Send them to your neighbor, your accountant, or your grandma! Remember the rule of gift giving, if you want to get something, make sure you give something!

Iced Imperial Pretzels. Crunchy salted pretzels dipped in our famously rich Imperial Cherry Chocolate, then drizzled under our smooth white chocolate. These are a one time a year addition! My staff has been getting worked up about National Cherry Month. "Why is it in February? You want to put Sour Cherry Patches on special?" So I said, "Hey, you need to chill out and have some Tame Cherry Tea." Cherry herbal tea! A wonderful blend of sweet cherries, lemon-grass, chamomile, cinnamon, and lots of other natural ingredients. This is a great way to sip away a gray February day and get recharged for the madness of March!
Night at the Whiting...
Last week, eight of my core staff and I spent the night at the Whiting Hotel, the oldest hotel in Michigan. Cherry Republic has an option to purchase the building and we all thought it would be a good idea to get to know it better by living in it for a short period. Our storefronts are underneath the 74 worn rooms. The 28,000 square foot building contains a beautiful brick and stone basement and has great potential. We had fun exploring the building and its surroundings, right smack in the middle of Traverse City. We shopped, had a beer across the street at Mackinac Brewery, walked a half block east and ate at Amical, then finished the night dancing at Kilkenny's, only a hop-skip west of the Whiting. The next morning we met and talked about ideas for all this great space. Should we buy it and lease out the second and third floors, or let Cherry Republic take over the entire building and do every possible cherry and family fun thing we can dream up?
