Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving. We at Cherry Republic hope that you all have a terrific time with family and friends this weekend. Enjoy your turkey, dressing and cranb... no I can't say that. Enjoy everything but the cranberry sauce and don't choke on your apple pie. But beyond that, it really is a good time for us to let go of past skirmishes with other fruits and wish everyone a packed and happy tummy.

Get ready for leftovers!
Our products are great to use with your Thanksgiving leftovers. Of course our NEW! Cherry Chutney is great on a reheated (or cold) piece of turkey. But we also have a unique recipe from Jody Koblenzer from across the Lake in Fox Point, WI. Jody didn't give the recipe a name, so we came up with our own: Cherry Almond Turkey Wrap. You need a hearty slice of Turkey Breast, 2 slices of Swiss Cheese, 2 Tablespoons of Cherry Almond Butter and 1 piece of Pita Bread. To prepare spread the Cherry Almond Butter on the Pita, add the turkey and Swiss Cheese. Roll up the wrap and eat. As an alternative, roll the wrap tightly, frill toothpick the wrap 5 times, and cut into sections to serve as an appetizer. We've tried this, and agree; it's tasty! Cherry Almond Butter is on special for $5.45.

Plans for Thanksgiving!
My family will be meeting over on Glen Lake at my in-laws Jon and Gloria Graber's house. We haven't settled on dinnertime, but it seems that we men are willing to compromise to half-time of the Lions and Packer's game. That gives us a good 20 minutes. It works just fine if you just focus on the turkey, dressing and potatoes and skip the extras like cranberry sauce, etc. You can also save a lot of time if the plates are already filled. I agree with Steph, Gloria and Momma Mary that it is not good to sit in front of the TV while eating Thanksgiving dinner, but it is relatively OK if everyone is at the table and the TV is sitting like a guest at one of the dining room chairs. Especially if we leave it on mute.
