We are hosting a Grand Opening in Downtown Traverse City next week. For the Full Story go here! As part of that celebration we are hosting tours of our Embassy, the Department of Ingestibles and Immigration, and the Whiting Hotel Building located above the Embassy. Our big party is next saturday from 12-8 pm. As part of the celebration we are choosing a new leader for the Cherry Republic. The voting polls are open all day Saturday in Traverse City, so stop by for voting and fun. Can't get up north? We have created a Special Grand Opening Gift Box. Packaged in a vintage Cherry Lug from the Orchards of Northern Michigan, this limited time gift box includes a DVD with our best videos plus some footage of Cherries in Full Fruit. Workday in the Lakeshore...
Today, a dozen of my staff and I are having a working/volunteering retreat day in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. We are helping the park clear and preserve the beautiful open fields in the Port Oneida Historic District. We will be dragging trees and brush to the chipper and lopping off small saplings. Cherry Republic gives financial contributions to various groups working in the park, but we have found that contributing our time can be just as valuable.
