Confiscated Fruit Mix is on Special!
This week's special is this summer's biggest new hit, the Confiscated Fruit Mix. Steph is eating some as I write this paragraph -- I think that it's so popular because all the items in the mix are crunchy and salty with one big exception -- our sweet, tender Dried Cherries. This makes for a product that provides our taste buds with complexity and contrast. Getting back to the deal -- Two for $19! This way you can try one yourself (if you haven't already) and give one to a friend. Normally $9.95, this 1.25 lb. bag is on special for $9.50 until September 5.
Manitou Adventure Successful...
Camping on South Manitou Island was great. How could it not be with good weather, good food, and four eager and funny 13 year-olds setting the pace? We fished at sunrise. We snorkeled over the Francisco Morazan and Three Brothers shipwrecks. We jumped off the Crib -- a spooky 30 foot drop into Lake Michigan. It was cold and clear during the night. I slept outside and watched the moon drop out of the sky, and soon after studied the constellations (well, mostly made my own). The big cherry. The little cherry. Those aren't dippers...
Summer Achievements
Thanks to all your thoughtful comments, our meeting about this summer's successes was very constructive. One thing that surprised me was how much our customers in the Winery liked the tradition of belting down a single Cherry On Top to start their tasting. I forgot about that one. The popularity of Cherry Root Beer on tap in the Traverse City drink store was another surprise. Hopefully in the next year or two we'll be bottling it. And I can't end without mentioning how many people wrote in that they liked this summer's lineup of Orchard Reports, which encourages us to get even more creative and fun this fall.
