Happy Birthday Sharon!
Sharon Radke, one of our best phone order-takers has a birthday today. We would like to celebrate that birthday in conjunction with another birthday of sorts: Sharon has been at Cherry Republic for 4 years! Sharon is the charismatic, Texan transplant with that wonderful southern accent. If you want to hear her voice, you'll have to wait until tomorrow, she took the day off...

Sangria Released!
Ongoing negotiations with the other fruit republics to hand over some of their forbidden fruits have been a success. We are happy to report that Cherry Sangria has finally arrived! Ripe pineapple and ginger aromas trigger thoughts of tropical fruits, while stronger mineral qualities of lime and cherry give this Spanish summer wine classic a pleasingly sweet-tart finish. It's available for tasting or purchase in our Winery, or can be purchased via phone or internet. $12.50 a bottle. (Currently available for shipping to Michigan addresses only. Rest assured, we are working on expanding the reach of our wines!)

Happy Memorial Day!
Everyone at the Republic is excited about the 3 day weekend! In our Glen Arbor capital, we expect to see thousands of faces. As we trade cash for cherries and work for fun, we are reminded that this holiday commemorates U.S. men and women who have died in military service to their country. Originally, the holiday was called Decoration Day and honored Union soldiers who died during the American Civil War. After World War I, it expanded to include those who died in any war or military action. At the Cherry Republic we would like to thank those (and their families) who have given the ultimate sacrifice, and those that continue to take that chance by serving. Have a Great Weekend!
